Up and coming Sheffield star Toddla T releases his unique debut album which mixes up ragga, hip-hop, drum'n'bass and breaks in an electro bundle!  Skanky Skanky is definitely worth checking out.

Alternative French rockers Phoenix bring out their fourth album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, singer-songwriter Fink releases Sort Of Revolution and pop-rock singer Gary Go delivers his self-titled debut which features his debut single Wonderful.

Lady of the moment Little Boots releases her latest single New In Town and we've also got three re-mixes of the single you can listen to for free.  New York Indie rocksters Crystal Stilts bring us their single Love Is A Wave, Howling Bells release their single Digital Hearts.

Plus we also have the latest single from Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden, Bonkers, which also features some great remix versions.

Electro-pop Swedish artist Kleerup gives us his self-titled debut album exclusively to listen to in advance of its release - hear it here first people!

New albums out today include Manic Street Preachers - Journal For Plague Lovers, which is the ninth studio album from the renowned Welsh rockers.  The album features lyrics from former band member Richey Edwards, who disappeared on 1st Feb 1995. 

The band posted the following message on their official website: "All 13 songs on the new record feature lyrics left to us by Richey. The brilliance and intelligence of the lyrics dictated that we had to finally use them. The use of language is stunning and topics include The Grande Odalisque by Ingres, Marlon Brando, Giant Haystacks, celebrity, consumerism and dysmorphia, all reiterating the genius and intellect of Richard James Edwards."

Eminem releases Relapse his sixth studio album and first release since 2004's Encore, having taken a break as a performer to produce other act's records.  Relapse is produced entirely by Dr. Dre, except for one song Eminem produced himself. According to Eminem, to work with Dr. Dre allowed him to "concentrate on the processes of songwriting rather than the production".

Brighton based band British Sea Power release Man of Aran, Lightning Seeds release their first album of new material in ten years - Four Winds and American electro band Passion Pit bring us their debut album Manners, which Clash Magazine awarded 9/10.

Daniel Merriweather's new single Red is out today and features John Lennon's son Sean on guitar - also look out for Daniel's debut album next week, where we will also host an exclusive interview and competition. 

Also out is Eels with My Timing Is Off, Roll Bus Roll by Jeffrey Lewis And The Junkyard and Room 44 by Team Waterpolo.

This week on we7 we have a very special Green Day site takeover, as we bring you their brand new album 21st Century Breakdown to listen to in full - before it is released!

Recorded in the same studio as American Idiot and influenced by Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joe and the boys have indicated that 21st Century Breakdown is less political and more power pop. There is no question that the 18 track masterpiece is set to be another chart topper by the triple Grammy award winning punksters...

And it doesn’t stop there - Not only will a selection of the Green Day back catalogue be available for fans to download from We7 at a special reduced price, but the band have also charged We7 with the giveaway of two personalised, framed presentation discs of their new album engraved with the winners’ names!

Also available is Graham Coxon's The Spinning Top, which is the seventh studio release from the ex Blur guitarist.  The record is a concept album that follows a narrative of a man from birth to death and like previous releases the cover art was painted by Coxon himself.

Leicester based singer/songwriter Jersey Budd releases his debut album Wonderlands, which The Fly describes as an "Accomplished debut that frames Budd’s classically wasted rocks/blues vocal".

Conceptual rock duo Marmaduke Duke release Duke Pandemonium, the second album to a three part trilogy and is the side project of two leading members of Scottish alternative rock bands - Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro and JP Reid of Sucioperro.  

Plus hotly tipped Passion Pit release The Reeling which is their debut single, following on from their acclaimed EP Chunk Of Change.  We'll be bringing you their debut album in full next week!

After we've all rested from the Bank Holiday, we're back to tell you about all the latest free music we7 has to offer!

Gallows release Grey Britain their second studio album receiving unanimous postive feedback from critics, with Clash Magazine describing the record "as daunting as blow-drying your face in the evil ghost-gas that Indiana Jones unleashes from The Lost Arc".

Gothic rockers The Horrors return with their second album Primary Colours, which has been produced by Craig Silvey (Tupac/Mariah Carey/REM) and Geoff Barrow producer/instrumentalist for Portishead.

Alessi's Ark - the brainchild of London singer and guitarist Alessi Laurent-Marke, delivers Notes From The Treehouse, taking you on a whimsical and fairytale adventure throughout the twelve track album. 

Legendary glam rockers New York Dolls release their fourth studio album Cause I Sez So, a mighty 38 years on from the band's inception!  It's the second album since they reformed and the track Trash is a re-recording of a song that originally appeared on their debut album.

The Maccabees bring out their second album Wall Of Arms which many critics cite as showing a much darker, evolved sound than their former record Colour It In.  Markus Dravs produced the album and has previously collaborated with Bjork, Arcade Fire and Coldplay. 

On the singles front, Polly Scattergood, the quirky singer songwriter from Essex, releases her single Please Don't Touch, we caught up with Polly to chat about her debut album, experimenting with sounds and her favourite artists.

Also Britney Spears gives us the provocatively titled If You Seek Amy, ska punk group The King Blues release I Got Love and finally U2 release Magnificent, the second single from their hit album No Line On The Horizon.

New on we7 - 20.04.09

New music on we7 this week consists of the Noisettes new album Wild Young Hearts.  Named after the green triangular chocolate from Quality Street(!), these London indie popsters bring us their second album which features their hit single Don't Upset The Rhythm.

With the charismatic vocal coming from frontwoman Shingai Shoniwa this album is full of energetic pop hooks and sing along choruses - a great summer soundtrack!

Glaswegian folk-poppers Camera Obscura release their fourth album My Maudlin Career - a bittersweet record with uplifting melodies coupled with poignant lyrics, definitely has a distinct sound of yester-year and is possibly their most accomplished album to date.

Alternative rock four-piece Fightstar release Be Human, their third studio album and rumour has it they are finally able to shake off the stigma of pop-punk band Busted, which has followed since their inception. The album features the first two singles The English Way and Mercury Summer and is full of energetic melodies and experimental orchestral rock sounds.

Singer-songwriter Jeffrey Lewis and The Junkyard releases Em Are I, his latest album which offers the usual anti-folk ditties and philosophical lyrics.

We bought it to you exclusively last week with NME.com, one week ahead of release, and now Depeche Mode's new album Sounds Of The Universe is officially out today and worth visiting if you haven't already.

UK Grime artist Tinchy Stryder brings us his latest single Number 1, which he wrote with N-Dubz' Dappy.

Hotly tipped London Duo The Big Pink release latest single Velvet, which delivers with their usual use of gritty beats, droning guitars and dreamy vocals.

New Releases 02.03.09

This week on We7 the highly anticipated 12th studio album from rock legends U2 is out and available to listen to for free right now!  No Line On The Horizon is the band's first album since 2004's How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, making the five year gap between releases the longest in the band's career.  Partly recorded in Fez, Morocco, it has everything you expect of a U2 album - sonic experimentation plus stadium-sized anthems.  So Get On Your Boots and check it out!

 

Also out today is Flo Rida's record breaking single Right Round, which samples Dead or Alive's 1985 dance classic You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), which has also been covered by the likes of Jessica Simpson and Marilyn Manson!

This track now holds the record for highest debut on the digital-single sales chart and also the highest digital sales of any single in one week, a record Flo, himself already held for his Grammy-nominated Low.  Check back for our interview with Flo, coming up this Wednesday.

 

In addition we spent some time chatting with Irish born soul singer Laura Izibor.  She's already a rising star in the US after bagging support slots with superstars James Brown, Angie Stone and Al Green!  You can read the full interview to find out more about her music and background and listen to her new single Shine.

Siobhan Donaghy's Ghosts voted most underrated album!

Last month we asked you to vote for your most underrated album from a list of 10 albums nominated by some of the most influential music bloggers around. Well, the votes have now been counted, and we are proud to declare Siobhan Donaghy's 2007 album Ghosts the clear winner!

In a rare interview with We7, Siobhan revealed that she was delighted with the recognition for her album - "I'm very proud to have created a body of work that is still being enjoyed."

Siobhan beat off strong competition from the likes of The Black Crowes (nominated for Amorica), Primal Scream (nominated for Give Out But Don't Give Up) and The Bleep Seals (nominated for Things That Roar).

What is the most underrated album ever?

At We7, we are big fans of albums, new and old. We’ve come to the conclusion that in order to discover the true diversity and depth of an artist you need to listen to their album as a complete work – as they intended it to be listened to.

With so many underrated masterpieces that never got the praise they deserved and with We7 providing such an easy way to listen to complete albums, we have decided to launch our search for the most underrated album ever and we need your help.

So, we got six of the best music bloggers to nominate what they see as the most underrated albums of all time. You can have a rant about the choices, tell us who’s missing from the list and vote for your favourite here from their nominations. We’ll be announcing the winner in January.

Gene’s "great lost masterpiece" – 'Drawn To The Deep End' "From its lavish sleeve design, to the way its track-listing runs, like a film or a concept album, with a powerful intro and a dramatic finale, Drawn To The Deep End was, arguably, one of the finest - and darkest - Britpop releases ever – a proper record, from start to finish... At the risk of sounding like my dad, they don’t make ‘em like that anymore."
