‘AN INTRODUCTION TO SCANDIPOP’ RADIO STATION
LISTEN TO ‘AN INTRODUCTION TO SCANDIPOP’ RADIO NOW
If you’ve not listened to Scandipop music before, we recommend starting with this excellent ‘Introduction to Scandipop’ radio station, put together by the guys at scandipop.co.uk. They’ve even written a brief background to each song. Let us know your favourites..
Tove Styrke
The new Robyn. Not just in theory - she’s got the same producers too. She makes catchy electropop and this song is her finest moment.
Margaret Berger
Norwegian electro siren. She’s been away for a while but releases her new album in 2012. ‘Samantha’ is the best of what’s gone before.
Medina
The dark priestess of Danish music. Hugely stylish both visually and sonically, without compromising on the pop!
Anna Abreu
Finland’s pop princess. ‘Stereo’ is her best track and one of my favourite songs of last year. Check out the ridiculous video set in a convent too.
Le Kid
Sweden’s greatest pop exports right now. They should be worldwide. They aren’t right now. It’s only a matter of time though. Surely.
Danny & Freja
New project of Danny Saucedo. This is a re-recording of his old hit from a few years back, released in the UK last year. It’s a great example of the melodic dance pop that Scandinavia does so well.
Electric Lady Lab
Danish electro duo. Everything they make is brilliant. That’s how good they are! This track samples fellow Scandipop saviors, a-ha, superbly.
Dilba
High turbo powered dance pop. The type that makes you need a sit-down after you’ve finished listening to it.
Eric Saade
The current prince of pop in Sweden. This is the sort of happy pop that you couldn’t imagine any other region producing!
Linda Bengtzing
The finest example of schlager music. If you like this, you’ve got a whole world of more gems like this to explore. Scandinavia has been making it for decades.
